A testimonial from the first mother to complete my course.

Anna

"Thank you so much for putting this course together. I would be amazed if there isn't a mother out there who hasn't experienced negative feelings around anger and found themselves struggling, yet it's hard to find resources and support which approach this with the compassion your course has.

It's so helpful having something that breaks down such an emotional, complex, and still quite taboo topic so concisely. It's definitely what is missing from the dialogue around mothering, yet so important.

Most useful was the reinforcement of the more important role that repair has - especially this being something that myself and probably many people my age are the first to practice having never experienced it growing up.

I'm also taking away a deeper understanding of what lies behind my anger,  a new perspective on it (with less shame).  I like the practical elements where you can write down your thoughts and motivations - once you understand it, you can then make changes and develop strategies for better managing and expressing anger when it surfaces."

“I found this course so nurturing, accessible and engaging. Each module is crafted to guide you to better understand why rage happens and what you can do about it. Each video is a bite-sized nugget of information – the perfect format for any busy mum. There’s even a handy “SOS Grab Bag” of regulation tools to call on after a tough bedtime with quick answers to how you can help yourself, paced into clear steps and suggestions. A must-have therapeutic course – highly recommend!”

“When I listen to Caroline I feel safe and I don’t feel judged. It feels like a safe place to feel those uncomfortable feelings. When I did one of the visualisations, I felt a little sad for both my child self and myself as an overwhelmed mum – but with no judgment despite me being 100 per cent sure that I have at times shown anger as a mum.”

Dr Claire Plumbly,

Clinical psychologist and Mum of 3

“Maternal rage is a truly excellent course. As a clinical psychologist this is what I’ll be referring to my clients to when they want to overcome anger and irritability and learn how to manage their emotions.

Caroline has drawn on an excellent model of therapy and put together beautiful slides, imagery and tools to guide you through it.

I know that any women who come to this, needing to feel more in control of emotions and able to manage themselves with their children, are going to come away knowing exactly what they need to do for themselves."

"I love this course that Caroline has created because it gives us a toolkit for dealing with those hot moments that naturally come up for us in the unbelievably stressful life of a parent. She offers a non-judgmental and compassionate way of understanding what's going on and how to deal with it better.

I know that it's going to make my parenting better and I'm really glad that I've taken the course for that reason. But I also know that it's going to really help my clients and I will be recommending it to friends, family, clients. Anybody who could use a bit of support for dealing with anger as a new parent because I think we all do to be honest."

"See this course as an essential investment in you - simple as. Mums don't invest in themselves enough.

Most useful? The SOS grab bag, unpicking my own perfectionism and thinking through how as a Millennial we really weren't encouraged to unpack our emotions in the way parents are expected to unpick emotions with their children today.

How I feel I wasn't expected to understand my own anger and sadness and what those emotions meant and why I had them.

It all resonated deeply - I could take something from every module."

"What a fabulous course in helping mothers (like me!) to feel seen, heard, understood, supported, validated, and better equipped to ride the waves of anger that are a natural, normal part of our lives.

As a mother of a neurodivergent child (ASD), it can be so difficult to avoid getting caught up in my child's strong feelings and reactions to the challenges they face in life.

These tough moments can feel overstimulating, frustrating, overwhelming, desperate, infuriating, and upsetting ... and yet there is so little out there to help us, as mothers, to help our children and ourselves in these emotionally-charged situations.

This course has given me a great understanding around the physiology and context of these moments, as well as some fantastic practical tools for me to approach them with.   Thank you Caroline!"

FAQ's

Q. Is your course suitable for mums with older kids?

A. Some of you with children aged 5 or older have asked if my course is suitable. The focus is on supporting mothers to look after themselves in terms of their own needs and strengthening emotional regulation skills, as well as thinking about how anger shows up in significant relationships (eg, with your partner/ child/ family members).

So while some examples I give may relate to parenting younger children, the ideas and tools apply to all mums.

Q. Is your course suitable for a mother who identifies as neurodivergent, deeply feeling or highly sensitive, or a mum diagnosed with ADHD?

A. I’ve adapted my self-paced course from my live 6-week anger course tailored for mothers experiencing anger in a wide range of contexts - including those diagnosed with ADHD or who identify as neurodivergent, highly sensitive or deeply feeling, and those who have experienced trauma. When I say trauma this includes childhood/ attachment trauma and adversity, fertility and birth trauma.

The course emphasis is on expanding your toolkit for taking care of your nervous system - while being supported to understand your triggers and increase self-awareness and self-compassion. This will be extremely helpful for anyone struggling with emotional regulation, and for anyone who finds themselves regularly overwhelmed and overstimulated by the intense demands of parenting.

My self-paced course allows even further accommodation for different ways of processing information. You can take breaks when and how you need to, and find a pace to work through it that best works for you. As well as the possibility to go back over each module as needed.

Q. What if I can't attend the Live Q&A I'm invited to midway through?

A. I offer two Q&A's a month at two different times (one daytime, one evening) to suit different timezones. If you can't make the first one you're invited to, you can just let me know and request to have your name added to my Q&A the following month at the time that suits you.
